A carambola occurs as metal money of tree native to Sri Lanka and popular throughout Southeast Asia. These are as well grown inside Brazil, Ghana and Guyana. These are closely related the bilimbi.

Tree description
A averrhoa carambola has hanker compound leaves (upto 50 cm hanker), pinkish flowers that appear either at leaf axiles or branch extremities. Fruit description
Its fruit, a carambola or even starfruit, occurs as golden-yellow to green berry. While cut through it shows the Five-pointed ( occasionally 6-pointed) star shape, hence its title. Taste is crunchy, acidulate & lemony, average of citrus fruit and remindful of pineapple. Its seeds are small & light brown.
